Alessandro Mason

Alessandro Mason was born in 1983 in Treviso into a family of artisans; during his studies in architecture at the Politecnico di Milano, he followed a personal quest in art, which still continues today in his workshop in Treviso. Alessandro made his first machines in 2005, with pneumatic, electric and mechanical movements. Several experiences related to 'sculpture lead him to investigate the theme of mechanism and movement in a poetic key. His creations want to bring the gaze closer to nature: they are fragile and light as living beings. His research continues between the studio in Milan and the workshop in Treviso, also thanks to his teaching activities at Domus Academy, and NABA (New Academy of Fine Arts) in Milan. Among others he has worked for / collaborated with : Antony Gormley, Sou Fujimoto, Aldo Cibic, Marco Ferreri, Beppe Finessi, Joseph Grima.
